Ladies Report for 2015-2016

Presented by Marian Emmet Ladies Manager

The season started with a 6 person medley with all 8 rinks filled. Unfortunately, Tournament Day had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Invitation Day was also a huge success with the Tarwin Ladies out doing themselves yet again in the catering department under the guidance of Heather Marshall. Well done everyone. Guest Day sponsored by Helen Twite was held under clear skies and enjoyed by all.

It’s my opinion that the Tarwin Ladies can hold their heads high. Again with Helen, Heather, Bev, Wilma & Robyn, stepping in for Helen who had another engagement, won the Regional State 4’s for a second year in a row. Losing to Drouin whom they beat last year to go onto Bendigo for the State Titles. Our Div 2 reached the finals against Korumburra in a thrilling match losing by 1 shot. Div 3 had a very unsettled year with many chops and changes in selection not helping. Helen again has won the Ladies Singles Championship, congratulations. Those who have taken part in the 100 & 21 up congratulations and also congratulations to Glenda & Steve Graham for their win in the mixed pairs.

In conclusion, I will be standing down from bowling for awhile to pursue other interests. I wish my successor Mary Massier well during her term as Ladies Manager, also Pat O’Donohue who has taken over as Secretary from Carol Giroud. Special thanks for a job well done.

I would like to wish everyone Good Bowling for 2016-2017.
